Dilico has a new office in Armstrong

ARMSTRONG - Dilico Anishinabek Family Care has announced the Grand Opening of the new Armstrong District Office in Whitesand First Nation, Ontario. The previous office for the communities has been in Armstrong since 1992.

“Dilico has been delivering services and programs that strengthen and support the well-being of children, youth, families and communities in the Northern Superior First Nations communities for 27 years,” said Micheal Hardy, Dilico’s Executive Director, “The opening of this new office reflects another successful partnership in the Robinson Superior Treaty Area.”

Dilico opens new Armstrong office

The new Dilico Armstrong Office is rented from Whitesand First Nation. The newly built two-story 4,400 square foot facility is part of the band’s improved infrastructure efforts.

The facility combines the best in accessibility and responsive health care. The Whitesand District Office offers a fully-equipped patient examination room, a counselling room, a meeting room, three overnight rooms for visiting staff and an office area. There are full-time Dilico staff serving an estimated 600 people in Armstrong, Whitesand and the area.

“We’re honoured to be able to work with Dilico Anishinabek Family Care to ensure good health for Anishinabek residents of all ages in our First Nations,”said Chief Allan Gustafson of the Whitesand First Nation.

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care provides a range of responsive individual, family and community programs and services for the complete life journey of all Anishinabek people. Dilico cares for the physical health, the mental health and the health of the communities where Anishinabek people live by promoting wellness, preventing illness and trauma, and providing diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
